IUC Holiday Hat – Chicago

December 31, 2016 at Chicago Indoor Soccer LLC in Chicago.

tracking.php?code=05IgGiH8OmUC6IVfByNKci

The Indoor Ultimate Championships are the nationwide series for indoor turf events all across the US. Since our Holiday Hats in other areas have been so popular, we’re offering one in Chicago this year.

As with all IUC events, this tournament will be a fundraiser for 10MillionDiscs.org.
10MD is using Ultimate to bring together youth from cultures and countries with long histories of conflict, and uses SotG to teach them mutual respect, personal accountability, gender respect, and conflict resolution.
In addition, they also work with a wide array of NGOs, using the discs to spread messages about HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, Healthy Living and Hygeine, and language translation lessons.
Their Refugees Without Referees project has spread across Europe and into the Middle East, they are also helping partners in over a dozen countries start Leaders/Coaches in Training programs, and they’ve just recently launched 10 Million Discs for Women, to offer the same broad based support and fundraising skills for international Women’s Ultimate development.

You can create your own mini-fundraiser page for 10MD if you’d like to play for free in this tournament.
Just raise $40 by telling your friends and coworkers about the amazing work 10 Million Discs is doing around the world. Send an email to 10MillionDiscs@gmail.com to get the link.

Otherwise the tournament fee will be $20 for the first 25 people to register and then will go up to $25 after that. Registation information will be posted around the 15th of Dec. Spread the word to all your friends who are home for the holiday. With plenty of byes, this will be a great chance to catch up.

HSP Series: Moving from Stress to Appreciating and Savoring Life

December 11, 2016 at Chaturanga Holistic Fitness in Chicago.

tracking.php?code=r2fc7fhG7qG2biTBsSl0sy

• Do you feel exhausted by the accumulation of self-judgement, stressful events or busy and loud environments?
• Do you end the day reviewing scenes from the day and planning the details of redo’s?
• Does all of this ruminating take up valuable time and energy that you’d like to use for doing something fun or rejuvenating instead?

As HSPs we sometimes get overstimulated and tend to focus on all the things we need to fix and manage to protect our sensitive nervous systems. With the busyness of life, we can forget that our sensitivities also allow us special access to the richness of our senses.

In this introductory session, you will learn a concrete, efficient way to:
• Process past events
• Honor and value your experiences in a self-compassionate way
• Connect more deeply with the full range of your experience
• Use this clarity to guide your future actions

*If you are curious but unsure whether you are an HSP take the Highly Sensitive Test at: http://hsperson.com/test/highly-sensitive-test/
