you won’t want to miss with TWO Titans of music production, SHELLY YAKUS
& JIM TULLIO
Sunday April 17th, get ready for Day 2 of this brilliant weekend with the “DEMOLITION DERBY” — Your recorded music constructively critiqued by a distinguished panel of award winning engineers and producers!!! SHELLY YAKUS, JIM TULLIO, DANNY LEAKE, JOHNNY K, MARY MAZUREK & RICCO LUMPKINS present this awesomely fun, yet seriously constructive afternoon.
You can submit your tracks anonymously if you prefer, but either way we encourage you to participate and bring your work to the event on a CD or a USB FLASH Drive.
Details for those who wish to remain anonymous, and at the same time throw your hat in the ring, will be available shortly.

The venue has been upgraded to a bigger better facility across the street to Emporium Arcade Bar – Logan Square.

SHELLY YAKUS – Co-founder and Chief Engineer at AfterMaster Audio Labs and formerly chief engineer and vice president of A&M Records, Shelly has engineered and mixed recordings for some of the world’s best known artists including John Lennon, U2, Tom Petty, Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Alice Cooper, Van Morrison, Dire Straits, Bob Seger, Amy Grant, and Madonna. He is also widely respected for his expertise in recording studio design, acoustics and audio processing. The music that Mr. Yakus has engineered, produced, or mixed has grossed over a billion dollars in sales, and in 1999 he was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. JIM TULLIO – As a producer is known for his determination to get the most out of every track and the same out of every artist he works with. Jim has produced records for such artists as Mavis Staples, John Martyn, Clarence Fountain and Sam Butler of the Blind Boys of Alabama, Richie Havens, Dave Mason, David Bromberg and Steve Goodman. Tullio has also worked alongside Los Lonely Boys (their multi-million selling debut album “Heaven”), Rick Danko and Levon Helm of The Band, guitarist Jimmy Weider, Richie Havens, Rita Coolidge, John Prine, Bonnie Koloc, Michael McDermott and Howard Levy. A two-time Grammy winner (Unfinished Business and A Tribute to Steve Goodman), in 2005 Tullio won the WC Handy awards for Best Album and Best Song of the year for Mavis Staples’ Have A Little Faith.
