Las Posadas Action for Public/Affordable Housing

December 17, 2016 at Humboldt Park United Methodist Church in Chicago.

tracking.php?code=BpDs9wBTk7PSqe0P34jdZr

For the 4th year in a row our Logan Square Ecumenical Alliance is organizing a Las Posadas action to fight for public and affordable housing in Chicago. This year we will be marching up Milwaukee Ave (from Calfornia blue line stop to Logan Square blue line stop). Las Posadas tradition comes out of the Latin American reenactment of Mary and Joseph seeking shelter (both being turned away and finding welcome) so that Jesus can be born. In the midst of gentrification in our city, we will march to ensure that Chicago remains a city where public and affordable housing exist! We will start at Humboldt Park UMC, have street theter along the way, and end with a festival that will focus on kids and families. Please join us as we fight God’s fight for housing justice!
