April 21, 2017 at Perillo BMW in Chicago.

On April 21, The Children’s Research Fund Junior Board will host one of Chicago’s most anticipated charity events of 2017. Over 300 young professionals will flood the showroom of Perillo BMW to enjoy an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and urban fashion to raise funds for childhood leukemia research at Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute – the research arm of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago

The man of the evening is Dr. Paul Lee. A fourth year fellow in Lurie Children’s the division of Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation, Dr. Lee is investigating the role of the gene DYRK1A in leukemia. Clinical trials show that this gene plays a critical role in the development of leukemia. Dr. Lee’s goal is to identify the exact role of the gene and to discover more effective drug therapies for children suffering from this disease.

900 North Michigan Shops will be showcasing their latest looks for spring during the show. Models – and Dr. Lee – will take to the runway to display cutting-edge fashion perfectly suited for young Chicagoans.

The Children’s Research Fund Junior Board, an affiliated organization of Lurie Children’s, has been raising funds for medical research in Chicago since the 1950’s. To date, the Children’s Research Fund Junior Board has raised nearly $2 million for pediatric medical research initiatives conducted at the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute.
